Updated Ciaccona’s suggested Echo set. Moonlit Cloud is suggested as we didn’t include consideration of future character in the simulation. However, we thought this is not appropriate as this will misdirect players to farm Moonlit Cloud set. So now we change to suggest Gust of Welkin Set.
Ciaccona Overview
In Wuthering Waves, Ciaccona is a 5-Stars Aero character and uses Pistol during the fight.
Ciaccona Mechanism
Ciaccona’s Resonance Liberation
After the animation of Ciaccona’s Resonance Liberation ends, she grants the entire team a 24% Aero damage boost and begins singing in the center of the field, and she is unable to perform other actions. Two buttons will appear in the middle of the screen—one yellow and one green. Pressing them when they light up will apply either Spectro Frazzle or Aero Erosion to nearby enemies.
As for the timing, the skill description states that you should press when the soundwave enters the judgment circle. However, in practice, you don’t need to worry about it—just keep pressing. There’s no penalty for pressing early, so there’s no need to stress about timing; just spam the buttons. Every successful press will restore 10 Concerto Energy for Ciaccona. It is good to know this mechanic, but it’s rarely useful in actual combat.
If you switch to another character at this point, Ciaccona will remain on the field, automatically releasing soundwaves without requiring any input from you.
- If you pressed the Yellow Circle before switching, Ciaccona will continue automatically pressing the Yellow Circle after switching, applying Spectro Frazzle to enemies.
- If you pressed the Green Circle before switching—or did nothing and switched immediately after using her Resonance Liberation—then Ciaccona will automatically press the Green Circle, applying Aero Erosion instead.
This occurs every 1.7 seconds and can trigger up to 20 times. Since Ciaccona’s Resonance Liberation has a 25s cooldown, the effect is effectively always active.
However, note that when Ciaccona automatically presses the circles from off-field, she does not gain Concerto Energy. Only when the player manually controls her to press the circles will she receive the energy.
Another thing—what if you press the wrong button before switching? For example, if you’re running a Spectro Frazzle team but forget to press the Yellow Circle before switching, there’s no way to fix it. If you switch back to Ciaccona, she will exit her Resonance Liberation state. So once you switch away, don’t switch back.
One more very important point: many players rely on sound cues to make judgments during gameplay. At the end of Ciaccona’s Resonance Liberation animation, there’s a sound effect. If you’re playing a Spectro Frazzle team, you’re supposed to be pressing the Yellow Circle at this time—so it’s easy (at least for me) to mistake this sound effect for a successful Yellow Circle trigger. Then I switch characters, only to realize Aero Erosion was applied instead. Then you can only reset the battle.
So after getting Ciaccona, pay close attention to this sound cue. Make sure the Yellow Circle is triggered before switching. Of course, if you’re playing an Aero Erosion team, it doesn’t matter—you can switch immediately after her Resonance Liberation ends.
Ciaccona’s Basic Attack & Solo Concert State
In actual combat, there are times when we need to complete Ciaccona’s full attack sequence to trigger Outro Skill buffs. So let’s take a look at her other mechanics.
First, her Basic Attack has four parts:
- She swings her microphone once.
- She stabs forward and jumps for the second attack.
- She draws a Z-shape on the ground for the third attack.
- She leaps into the air and lands for the fourth attack.
When she lands, a green circle appears beneath her feet, continuously emitting rippling waves. At the same time, green lines and musical notes float upward from Ciaccona’s body, indicating she has entered Solo Concert state, granting all allies a 24% Aero damage boost.
Additionally, when the fourth Basic Attack hits an enemy, it applies a stack of Aero Erosion, which can trigger the new Aero set’s effects and her signature weapon’s skill.
However, you’ll notice that the fourth attack—jumping and landing—has a very long animation. If you interrupt it with a dodge, Resonance Skill, jump, or similar action, Ciaccona will summon a clone to finish the fourth attack in her place. The clone will then enter Solo Concert state and apply the team buff.
Ciaccona can trigger the fourth Basic Attack in other ways:
- Mid-air Attack: She has a two-stage mid-air attack. You can jump and use it directly.
- Heavy Attack: When her Forte Circuit Energy isn’t full, holding the Basic Attack button makes her perform an upward slash and leap into the air. Pressing Basic Attack again will make her stab downward before slamming down. If you continue pressing the attack button after landing, she will immediately follow up with the fourth Basic Attack.
- Resonance Skill: Using her Resonance Skill makes her dash forward. If you then press Basic Attack, her combo will start from the second stage, allowing her to chain into the fourth attack.
Ciaccona’s Resonance Skill
Using her Resonance Skill to interrupt any of Ciaccona’s normal attacks—Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, or Mid-air Attack—will summon a clone to complete the interrupted action. However, only when interrupting the fourth Basic Attack will the clone grant the team-wide buff (the 24% Aero damage boost). So remember: only use the Resonance Skill to interrupt the fourth Basic Attack.
Ciaccona’s Forte Circuit Energy
Forte Circuit Energy has three segments, plus two musical notes on the sides. These notes represent the number of clones currently on the field—one note lights up per clone, with a maximum of 2 clones.
Forte Circuit Energy can be gained in two ways:
- Using her Intro Skill grants one segment.
- Successfully landing the fourth Basic Attack also grants one segment.
Additionally, after using her Intro Skill, pressing the attack button will immediately chain into the third Basic Attack.
Ciaccona’s Rotation
Now we can outline her rotation:
- Use Intro Skill to enter the field, gaining one Forte Circuit Energy segment.
- Press the attack button twice. As Ciaccona jumps (second attack), use her Resonance Skill.
- This interrupts the fourth attack, grants another Circuit Energy segment, and summons a clone.
- Continue pressing the attack button to perform the second and third Basic Attacks.
- When performing the fourth Basic Attack, use a dodge to interrupt the long animation.
- At this point, Circuit Energy will be full.
- Hold the attack button to perform an Enhanced Heavy Attack, firing a large golden note that pulls in nearby enemies (though the suction force and range are limited).
One thing to note: using her Resonance Liberation will interrupt the Enhanced Heavy Attack. While the Concerto Energy is gained the moment Circuit Energy is consumed, the damage and Resonance Energy charge are lost. This is something to consider—if you don’t care about the lost damage and energy, you can immediately use her Resonance Liberation after the Enhanced Heavy Attack.
Ciaccona’s Outro Skill Buff
Ciaccona’s Outro Skill effect is straightforward – provides 100% increased Aero Erosion damage deepen buff for 30 seconds.

Ciaccona Skills Priority

Most of the damage multiplier comes from Resonance Liberation, so upgrade it in prior. The next are Basic Attack and Forte Circuit. Resonance Skill and Intro Skill should be upgraded as last.

Base Attack Lv:
|
|
|---|---|
Basic Attack
Perform up to 4 consecutive attacks, dealing Aero DMG. Basic Attack Stage 4 inflicts 1 stack of Aero Erosion upon the target hit.
– When the first three stages of Ciaccona’s Basic Attack are interrupted by dodging, Basic Attack in time to resume the attack cycle and cast the corresponding Basic Attack stage.
– After Basic Attack Stage 4, Ciaccona starts a Solo Concert. If Ciaccona’s Basic Attack Stage 4 or Solo Concert ends early (proactively or being interrupted), an Ensemble Sylph is generated.
Solo Concert
When Ciaccona or Ensemble Sylph performs Solo Concert, they give 24% Aero DMG Bonus to all nearby Resonators in the team. This effect is not stackable.
Ensemble Sylph
Up to 2 Ensemble Sylphs may exist simultaneously.
If Ciaccona’s Basic Attack Stage 4 is interrupted, the Ensemble Sylphs generated will finish the attack for Ciaccona and enter Solo Concert.
If Ciaccona’s Solo Concert is interrupted, the Ensemble Sylphs generated will continue the Solo Concert for Ciaccona.
Aside from the two situations mentioned above, Ensemble Sylphs generated by Resonance Skill will finish Ciaccona’s current attack without entering Solo Concert.
Heavy Attack
Consume STA to jump into mid-air and attack the target, dealing Aero DMG.
Aimed Attack
Aim to enter Aiming Mode to fire charged shots, dealing Aero DMG, considered Heavy Attack DMG.
Mid-air Attack
Consume STA to perform up to 2 consecutive attacks, dealing Aero DMG.
Normal Attack after Mid-air Attack Stage 2 to cast Basic Attack Stage 4.
Dodge Counter
Follow up successful Dodges with Basic Attack to attack the target, dealing Aero DMG.

Resonance Skill Lv:
|
|
|---|---|
Move a certain distance, dealing Aero DMG and inflicting 1 stack of Aero Erosion on the target upon hit.
Normal Attack in time to cast Basic Attack Stage 2.
– When Ciaccona interrupts Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Mid-air Attack, or Solo Concert with Resonance Skill, an Ensemble Sylph is generated.
– Ciaccona’s Resonance Skill can be cast in mid-air.

Resonance Liberation Lv:
|
|
|---|---|
Ciaccona and Ensemble Sylphs perform an Improvised Symphonic Poem together, dealing Aero DMG once to the nearby targets and entering Recital.
Recital
When in Recital, sound waves will periodically radiate around Ciaccona. When the sound wave overlaps with the circle indicator, the green or yellow buttons to generate Symphonic Poem: Tonic of the corresponding color and recover a certain amount of Concerto Energy.
During Recital:
– Switching to another Resonator doesn’t end Recital, but automatically generates a Symphonic Poem: Tonic matching the color of the last generated Tonic before switching. A green Symphonic Poem: Tonic is generated by default if no interaction input is given before switching to another Resonator.
– Ciaccona is immune to interruptions and takes 50% less DMG.
– Exit Recital by Resonance Liberation again or switching Ciaccona back onto the field.
– Ensemble Sylphs can now directly grant Aero DMG Bonus provided by Solo Concert.
Symphonic Poem: Tonic
Green Tonic: Deal Aero DMG to nearby targets and inflict a stack of Aero Erosion on targets hit.
Yellow Tonic: Deal Aero DMG to nearby targets and inflict a stack of Spectro Frazzle on targets hit.

Forte Circuit Lv:
|
|
|---|---|
Heavy Attack – Quadruple Downbeat
When there are 3 segments of Musical Essence, Heavy Attack is replaced with Heavy Attack – Quadruple Downbeat.
Consume all Music Essense to shoot Downbeat Notes forward to deal Aero DMG, pulling in the nearby targets and inflicting 1 stack of Aero Erosion on the target hit.
Heavy Attack – Quadruple Downbeat can be cast in mid-air close to the ground.
Musical Essence
Ciaccona can hold up to 3 segments of Musical Essence.
Casting Basic Attack Stage 4 or Intro Skill recovers 1 segment of Musical Essence.

Ciaccona Resonance Chain
Since Ciaccona is a support character, evaluating her Resonance Chain (RC) improvements based solely on her personal gains isn’t appropriate. So the percentages are just for your information.
S1
Only provides a 10% increase
S2
Offers almost no personal improvement.
However, considering the main DPS she supports, the 40% damage boost generally translates to over 15% teamwide improvement.
S3
Streamlines her rotation by eliminating the need to perform two fourth-stage basic attacks.
The additional Resonance Skill usage mainly compensates for energy regeneration since you can skip one set of basic attacks.
S4
12.8% increase
S5
4.8% increase
S6
During a typical 14s Skill buff duration, Ciaccona can summon 5-6 clones, but even then the total multiplier only reaches about 1100%, still far below a proper main DPS. When using her standard support playstyle, S3’s extra Forte Circuit energy allows skipping one additional clone, which indirectly reduces S6’s value.
In summary, none of Ciaccona’s Resonance Chain upgrades provide significant damage boost.

Sub Stats
In future Aero Erosion team compositions, it’s speculated that Ciaccona will still perform best with the Gust of Welkin set.
Main Stats for Echoes:
For 4-cost Echoes, the main stat should complement your weapon’s substat.
For example, if her signature weapon has Crit Rate as a substat, then go for Crit Damage as the main stat.
For 3-cost Echoes, having an Energy Regen 3-cost will make rotations much smoother.
If she’s placed in a Spectro Frazzle team, she’ll need around 140% Energy Regen.
Since Ciaccona’s personal damage isn’t particularly high, it’s recommended to prioritize smooth rotations over damage.
If she’s placed in an Aero Erosion team, the Energy Regen requirement likely won’t be as strict—around 120%+ should suffice (though this is just speculation).
It’s best to wait until Aero Erosion teams are fully released before fine-tuning.
For 1-cost Echoes, Attack% is the obvious choice.
Substats:
Since Ciaccona’s damage distribution is fairly balanced across her kit, flat Attack tends to be slightly better than Damage Bonus.
Priority: Crit Rate/Crit Damage > Attack% > Flat Attack > Resonance Liberation Damage Bonus

Basic Attack : 337
Secondary Stat – Energy Regen : 51.8%
When Resonance Skill is cast, restores 8/10/12/14/16 Concerto Energy. This effect can be triggered 1 times every 20s.
Ciaccona’s signature weapon provides the team with a 10% reduction in enemy Aero resistance.
To put this into perspective, compared to other weapons, this translates to roughly less than an 11% increase in teamwide Aero damage output.
For reference:
The performance gap between most Main DPS signature weapons and their second-best alternatives is around 13%.
Assuming the Main DPS contributes 80% of the team’s total damage, Ciaccona’s signature weapon would still only provide a ~10% overall team damage increase.
So even though Aero Erosion teams aren’t fully released yet, you can use this benchmark when deciding whether to pull for her signature weapon.
If you’re the type of player who doesn’t always pull for Main DPS signature weapons, then Ciaccona’s signature weapon isn’t a must-pull either.
Note: This calculation only accounts for Ciaccona’s personal damage difference—team utility is a separate consideration.
Ciaccona Team Comp
Ciaccona Best Team I
Main DPS – Phoebe
Phoebe can be switch between Absolution mode (Main DPS) and Confession mode(Support). In this team, Phoebe is a Main DPS which mainly deals damage by Heavy Attack: Starflash.
Sub DPS – Ciaccona
Her ability to continuously apply Spectro Frazzle effects helps solve Phoebe’s most troublesome target-switching issues.
Healer – Shorekeeper/Verina/Rover Spectro
In addition to providing the traditional 15% All DMG Deepen like other healers, Shorekeeper’s Liberation can offer continuous healing, crit rate, and crit damage, making it very powerful. The Outro Skill’s buff allows knocked-back teammates to immediately recover from the interruption.
Verina is a secondary healer that can provide Spectro DMG deepen and ATK% increase to teammates. While Verina is more comprehensive, her buff lasts longer, and she can protect a party member from fatal damage every 10 minutes.
S6 Rover (Spectro) can reduce the Spectro Resistance of enemies, thereby increasing Zani’s damage. Additionally, Rover’s can also inflict Spectro Frazzle to enemies.
Ciaccona Best Team II
Main DPS – Zani
Zani’s damage can convert Spectro Frazzle to Heliacal Ember, her damage and Forte Circuit engergy gain based on the stacks of Heliacal Ember.
Sub DPS – Ciaccona
Ciaccona can provide Zani with 70 Blaze stacks within 25 seconds. You can simply use her Resonance Liberation every 25 seconds – you don’t even need to execute her Outro Skill.

Calcharo
Calcharo primarily uses the enhanced Basic Attack and enhanced Forte Circuit after using Resonance Liberation for damage output. In the series of damage output after using Resonance Liberation, the damage ratio between Resonance Liberation and Basic Attack is approximately 2.2:1. Additionally, the Resonance Skill can be released at intervals, allowing full enjoyment of the permanent five-star weapon’s effects.
After using Resonance Liberation, Calcharo gains a new Basic Attack model. The multiplier for this attack is related to the level of Resonance Liberation, but the main proportion of his damage comes from the “Death Messenger” in Forte Circuit. Resonance Skill can be used during the Liberation period to interrupt Basic Attack combos, quickly generate Forte Circuit Energy, and trigger “Death Messenger”. The main components of his damage output consist of these three elements.
Encore
mong the permanent 5-star Fusion DPS characters, Encore enters an enhanced state and changes attack mode after activating Resonance Liberation. The main source of Encore’s damage comes from Basic Attacks after activating Resonance Liberation, not the Forte Circuit. Additionally, the cooldowns for Encore’s regular Resonance Skill and the enhanced Resonance Skill during Resonance Liberation are independent of each other.
In Encore’s damage output after activating Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack damage accounts for nearly 70%. Choosing Sanhua as a teammate can maximize her damage potential.
Sanhua
Although Sanhua has burst capabilities, the overall damage is not high. In Sanhua’s output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Resonance Liberation account for approximately 51% and 41%, respectively.
Although Resonance Skill damage is slightly higher, there is a risk of missing in actual combat. Sanhua has a unique Forte Circuit trigger mechanism similar to rhythm games, and hitting enemies can cause a slight time-stopping effect.
Sanhua has the fastest Concerto Energy and Resonance Energy acquisition efficiency in the game, making it the most versatile and best-feeling support in the current version. After using the Intro Skill, Sanhua only needs 3 seconds to fully charge Concerto Energy and trigger QTE, activating the Main DPS for output. Our team composition recommendations for various characters also show Sanhua’s high versatility.
