Jingran Overview

In Wuthering Waves, Jingran is a 5-Stars Fusion character and uses Broadblade during the fight.

Jingran Mechanism

Overview

Jingran has two combat states: Yang Font and Yin Vessel.

He starts in the Yang Font state. The two states use different attack animations and have slightly different damage multipliers, but otherwise function in much the same way.

Jingran’s Forte Gauge contains two resources:

  • Fire of Life, with a maximum of 100 points

  • Qi, with a maximum of 300 points

The bar-shaped gauge represents Fire of Life, while the central gauge represents Qi.

Casting Jingran’s Resonance Liberation restores 100 points of Fire of Life. The following actions restore Qi:

  • The third and fourth stages of his Basic Attack

  • Dodge Counters

  • His Intro Skill

  • Resonance Skills

  • His Resonance Liberation

  • His first three enhanced Heavy Attacks after casting his Resonance Liberation

In the Yang Font state, the Forte Gauge turns red when both Fire of Life and Qi are full. In the Yin Vessel state, it turns blue instead.

When Qi is full, Jingran unlocks an enhanced Heavy Attack and the Basic Attack icon lights up. Hold the attack button to consume 25 points of Fire of Life and all Qi, cast Heavy Attack – Soul Raid or Heavy Attack – Stardome Meander, and switch to the opposite state.

Normal Attack

Jingran has a four-stage Basic Attack sequence in both states.

  1. The third and fourth stages each restore 50 points of Qi on hit.

  2. A Dodge Counter restores 100 points of Qi on hit and can be followed by the fourth stage of his Basic Attack.

  3. A Tune Break can be followed by the first stage of his Basic Attack.

  4. A Plunging Attack can be followed by the second stage of his Basic Attack.

  5. Jingran’s normal attacks are treated as Heavy Attack DMG.

  6. Before an enhanced Heavy Attack is unlocked, holding the attack button automatically performs his Basic Attack sequence.

During combat, briefly pressing Dodge with directional input casts Shadow Step, dealing a fixed 25/30 Fusion DMG, similar to Galbrena’s special dodge. A successful Dodge can be triggered during a short window after it is cast, and the move can be followed by the second stage of Jingran’s Basic Attack.

State-specific attack names:

  • Yin Vessel: Basic Attack – Drink Soul; Dodge Counter – Nether Dive

  • Yang Font: Basic Attack – Devil’s Bane; Dodge Counter – Light Watch

Resonance Skill

Each state gives Jingran access to a separate Resonance Skill with a 15-second cooldown:

  • Resonance Skill – Encroaching Yin in the Yin Vessel state

  • Resonance Skill – Scorching Yang in the Yang Font state

The two skills do not share a cooldown.

Casting either skill grants Cleanse of Impurity. While Jingran has Cleanse of Impurity, pressing or holding Normal Attack in mid-air casts one of the following skills:

  • Resonance Skill – Netherworld Traverse in the Yin Vessel state

  • Resonance Skill – Afterlife’s Guide in the Yang Font state

These skills restore 100 points of Qi and can be followed by the second stage of Jingran’s Basic Attack.

Resonance Liberation

Casting Resonance Liberation – Burial of Thousand Souls deals Fusion DMG considered Heavy Attack DMG and grants 100 points of Fire of Life. It also provides the following effects:

  • If Jingran’s current HP is above 50% of his Max HP, it is reduced to 50% of his Max HP.

  • Restores 200 points of Qi.

  • Grants 3 stacks of Wayfarer’s Mark.

  • Enters the Yinghuo state for 15 seconds.

Wayfarer’s Mark

When Jingran casts Heavy Attack – Soul Raid or Heavy Attack – Stardome Meander, one stack of Wayfarer’s Mark is consumed and 200 points of Qi are restored.

Yinghuo

Yinghuo lasts for 15 seconds. When Heavy Attack – Soul Raid or Heavy Attack – Stardome Meander hits, Jingran summons Chimei Wangliang to attack, dealing Fusion DMG considered Heavy Attack DMG.

All remaining Fire of Life is cleared when Yinghuo ends.

Forte Circuit

When Jingran reaches 300 points of Qi, he unlocks one of two enhanced Heavy Attacks:

  • Heavy Attack – Soul Raid in the Yin Vessel state

  • Heavy Attack – Stardome Meander in the Yang Font state

Casting the enhanced Heavy Attack consumes all Qi and switches Jingran to the opposite state. While Yinghuo is active and Fire of Life is available, the attack also consumes 25 points of Fire of Life.

Consuming Fire of Life increases the enhanced Heavy Attack’s damage multiplier based on Jingran’s Max HP. The increase begins at 25,000 Max HP and improves once for every additional 1,000 Max HP, up to a maximum increase of 2.25 times at 50,000 or more Max HP.

Jingran’s DEF is always fixed at 0.

For every 1,000 points of Max HP, Jingran gains:

  • 6.2% Incoming Healing Bonus

  • 1.5% Fusion DMG Bonus

  • 36 additional ATK

Only up to 50,000 Max HP is counted. At the cap, Jingran gains a total of:

  • 310% Incoming Healing Bonus

  • 75% Fusion DMG Bonus

  • 1,800 additional ATK

Inherent Skills, Intro Skill, and Outro Skill

When Jingran gains a Shield, he gains 1 point of Ghost Shroud. This can be triggered once every 0.5 seconds.

When a nearby team member other than Jingran gains a Shield, Jingran gains 2 points of Ghost Shroud. This can also be triggered once every 0.5 seconds.

Upon entering combat or casting his Outro Skill, Jingran gains Fixation. While Fixation is active, the next time a nearby team member other than Jingran gains a Shield, Jingran gains 15 points of Ghost Shroud and Fixation is removed.

Ghost Shroud has a maximum of 50 points.

When Jingran casts Intro Skill – Question the Tombs, he restores 100 points of Qi and consumes all Ghost Shroud, converting it into an equal number of Fortune in Disguise stacks.

For each Fortune in Disguise stack, every 1,000 points of Jingran’s Max HP grants 0.05% Fusion DMG Bonus, up to 2.5% per stack at 50,000 or more Max HP. At 50 stacks, this provides up to 125% Fusion DMG Bonus.

Fortune in Disguise lasts for 15 seconds and is removed when Jingran switches out. This means Jingran can only receive a single Intro Skill during this buff window.

Casting any of the following grants Earth Charm:

  • Intro Skill – Question the Tombs

  • Resonance Skill – Encroaching Yin

  • Resonance Skill – Scorching Yang

Earth Charm

For 15 seconds, while Jingran is the active Resonator, dealing damage grants him a Shield equal to 1.6% of his Max HP + 700. The Shield cannot stack, lasts for 5 seconds, and can be triggered once every 0.5 seconds. It is not transferred to the next Resonator when Jingran switches out.

While Jingran is in the Yinghuo state, the total Shield amount is increased by 50%.

Outro Skill

Outro Skill – Rising Fortune and Ebbing Evil deals Fusion DMG equal to 795% of Jingran’s ATK.

Calcharo

Calcharo primarily uses the enhanced Basic Attack and enhanced Forte Circuit after using Resonance Liberation for damage output. In the series of damage output after using Resonance Liberation, the damage ratio between Resonance Liberation and Basic Attack is approximately 2.2:1. Additionally, the Resonance Skill can be released at intervals, allowing full enjoyment of the permanent five-star weapon’s effects.

After using Resonance Liberation, Calcharo gains a new Basic Attack model. The multiplier for this attack is related to the level of Resonance Liberation, but the main proportion of his damage comes from the “Death Messenger” in Forte Circuit. Resonance Skill can be used during the Liberation period to interrupt Basic Attack combos, quickly generate Forte Circuit Energy, and trigger “Death Messenger”. The main components of his damage output consist of these three elements.

Encore

mong the permanent 5-star Fusion DPS characters, Encore enters an enhanced state and changes attack mode after activating Resonance Liberation. The main source of Encore’s damage comes from Basic Attacks after activating Resonance Liberation, not the Forte Circuit. Additionally, the cooldowns for Encore’s regular Resonance Skill and the enhanced Resonance Skill during Resonance Liberation are independent of each other.

In Encore’s damage output after activating Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack damage accounts for nearly 70%. Choosing Sanhua as a teammate can maximize her damage potential.

Sanhua

Although Sanhua has burst capabilities, the overall damage is not high. In Sanhua’s output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Resonance Liberation account for approximately 51% and 41%, respectively.

Although Resonance Skill damage is slightly higher, there is a risk of missing in actual combat. Sanhua has a unique Forte Circuit trigger mechanism similar to rhythm games, and hitting enemies can cause a slight time-stopping effect.

Sanhua has the fastest Concerto Energy and Resonance Energy acquisition efficiency in the game, making it the most versatile and best-feeling support in the current version. After using the Intro Skill, Sanhua only needs 3 seconds to fully charge Concerto Energy and trigger QTE, activating the Main DPS for output. Our team composition recommendations for various characters also show Sanhua’s high versatility.
