In Wuthering Waves, Luuk Herssen is a 5-Stars Spectro character and uses Gauntlet, Gauntlets during the fight.

Luuk Herssen Mechanism

Luuk Herssen’s gameplay can be summed up in one sentence: use three Enhanced Resonance Skills to perform the Aureole of Execution, stacking the Endnotes on the Endgame three times, then finish with your Resonance Liberation.

Note this Enhanced Resonance Skill, the Aureole of Execution, is the core combo. It’s simple to execute: every time you land the fourth stage of a Basic Attack or the third stage of an Aerial Attack, your Resonance Skill is replaced with Aureole of Execution. After each Aureole of Execution, perform a Special Basic Attack. This will reset your Basic Attack combo back to the first stage.

So, the full combo is: perform three Aerial Basic Attacks, then use the Enhanced Memory to stack one Endnotes on the Endgame. Repeat this process until you have three stacks of Endnotes on the Endgame, then unleash your Resonance Liberation.

Now, let’s talk about Luuk Herssen’s unique traits. First, he can respond to Tune Strain – Interfered. For every stack of this effect on an enemy, the character’s final damage is increased by 0.12% for every point of Tune Break Boost.

Secondly, if the party lands a Tune Break or executes the Luuk Herssen, the entire team gains a 25% ATK buff. Luuk Herssen himself also gains an additional Damage Deepen buff against targets under the Tune Strain – Interfered effect, up to a maximum of 30%. This bonus is also scaled from his Tune Break Boost stat.

Therefore, it’s best to have as many teammates as possible who can respond to Tune Strain, and ideally, they should also be able to increase the party’s Tune Break Boost. In the current version, the best combination is Lynae and Mornye. Lynae can increase a teammate’s Tune Break Boost by 40 points. Combined with the innate 10 points that post-3.0 characters have when entering Tune Break, this results in a 24% increase for the entire party.

Aureate Judge
With full Ichor Flow, enter the Aureate Judge state. In this state, Luuk Herssen gains the following effects:
– Ichor Flow does not restore. The DMG Multipliers of all forms of Resonance Skill Aureole of Execution increase by 110%.
– Casting Aureole of Execution: Glare increases the DMG Multiplier of the next Mid-air Attack – Gavel of Earthshaker and Ichor Deposit DMG by 110%.
– 100 points of Ichor Flow is consumed each time Resonance Skill Aureole of Execution is cast.
– Aureate Judge ends when Ichor Flow depletes.

Golden Rule
When Luuk Herssen is in the team, all other Resonators in the team gain Golden Rule. When Resonators with Golden Rule cast Outro Skill and the incoming Resonator is Luuk Herssen, remove all Golden Rules on Resonators in the team and grant Luuk Herssen 200 points of Ichor Flow and 12 points of Concerto Energy. Resonators in the team gain Golden Rule again after 24s. This effect does not apply in Co-op Mode.

Dawnlit Keep
Luuk Herssen gains 1 stacks of Dawnlit Keep when he stays out of combat for over 4s or casts Intro Skill Before Injection of Dawn.
Dawnlit Keep is capped at 1 stack. When taking damage from enemies, consume 1 stacks of Dawnlit Keep to reduce the DMG taken by 60% and gain immunity to interruptions for 1s. This effect can be triggered once per second.

Radiant Reave
When Luuk Herssen performs Dodge in mid-air, he briefly stays airborne and hurls out an Ichor Blade.
Luuk Herssen consumes STA continuously while airborne.
If Luuk Herssen is launched into mid-air, press Dodge before landing to trigger this effect, up to 3 times. When he is on the ground or switched out for more than 3s, the trigger count is reset.

Ichor Blade
Deal fixed Spectro DMG, considered Basic Attack DMG that is not affected by any DMG Bonus.
Only one Ichor Blade can exist at a time. It cannot trigger Counterattack.

This sequence node provides a significant 100% damage bonus to Aerial Attacks. These Aerial Attacks also include the plunge and explosion from the third Enhanced Basic Attack, giving it good coverage. The overall numerical increase is about 12.33%. Additionally, starting from S1, Luuk Herssen’s maximum stack of the interruption resistance buff is increased by one. He gains this buff every time he uses an Enhanced Skill, effectively granting him near-permanent interruption resistanc in combat.

S2
This is a purely numerical increase. It enhances the multiplier of his Resonance Liberation and the damage amplification effect of his Inherent Skill. The personal improvement from this node is approximately 22.79%.

S3
S3 boosts the multipliers of various Enhanced Resonance Skills and the plunge attack, resulting in a personal damage increase of roughly 24.82%. It also improves his “fire transfer” capability, which is a significant boost for the Tune Break rotation.

S4
After performing a Tune Break, this node provides a 20% damage bonus for the entire party. The theoretical maximum personal gain from this is 7%.

S5
This node increases the multiplier of Luuk Herssen’s Intro and Outro Skills, offering a personal damage increase of about 1.94%. It also slightly reduces the cooldown and increases the maximum count of his basic skills, providing a small improvement to his mobility.

S6
Upon performing a Tune Break, this node increases the multipliers for most of Luuk Herssen’s skills. Furthermore, it increases the current stack count of Tune Strain by two after a Tune Break, speeding up his ramp-up time. The personal damage increase from this final node is substantial, at about 35.03%.

Pulling Recommendation
The priority is to get S1R0. The appeal of having nearly constant interruption resistance is just too significant. For players with a larger budget, the recommended paths to consider are S2R0, S3R0 or S6R0.

Regarding weapons, the top recommendation is his signature weapon, Daybreaker’s Spine. It provides Luuk Herssen with nearly 100% uptime on DEF Ignore and bonus Diffraction DMG, along with enhanced Basic Attack DMG.

The next best option is the standard weapon, Pulsation Bracer. When refined to R5, its performance gap compared to the signature weapon is less than 8%. Even at R1, the gap is only around 13%.

Luuk Herssen can respond to Tune Strain – Interfered. For every stack of this effect on an enemy, the character’s final damage is increased based on Tune Break Boost. Luuk Herssen himself also gains an additional Damage Deepen buff against targets under the Tune Strain – Interfered effect, up to a maximum of 30%. This bonus is also scaled from his Tune Break Boost stat.

Sub DPS – Lynae

Lynae can increase a teammate’s Tune Break Boost which is very suitable for Luuk Herssen.

Healer- Mornye

Mornye can provide 25% ATK, 25% universal DMG Deepen, 50% Off-Tune Buildup Rate, and healing. When there is a character in the team like Lynae who can apply the “Tune Rupture” or “Tune Stain” status to enemies, Mornye can grant the entire team a 40% DMG Bonus for 8 seconds after a team member performs a Tune Break on an enemy.

If you don’t have Lynae or Mornye, or if they are being used in another team, you can team Luuk Herssen up with Sanhua and Shorekeeper. Sanhua can provide a Basic Attack Deepen buff to Luuk Herssen. The downside is that Sanhua is a “speedy” character, while Luuk Herssen’s skills have long cooldowns, which means they don’t synergize very well with each other.

Calcharo

Calcharo primarily uses the enhanced Basic Attack and enhanced Forte Circuit after using Resonance Liberation for damage output. In the series of damage output after using Resonance Liberation, the damage ratio between Resonance Liberation and Basic Attack is approximately 2.2:1. Additionally, the Resonance Skill can be released at intervals, allowing full enjoyment of the permanent five-star weapon’s effects.

After using Resonance Liberation, Calcharo gains a new Basic Attack model. The multiplier for this attack is related to the level of Resonance Liberation, but the main proportion of his damage comes from the “Death Messenger” in Forte Circuit. Resonance Skill can be used during the Liberation period to interrupt Basic Attack combos, quickly generate Forte Circuit Energy, and trigger “Death Messenger”. The main components of his damage output consist of these three elements.

Encore

mong the permanent 5-star Fusion DPS characters, Encore enters an enhanced state and changes attack mode after activating Resonance Liberation. The main source of Encore’s damage comes from Basic Attacks after activating Resonance Liberation, not the Forte Circuit. Additionally, the cooldowns for Encore’s regular Resonance Skill and the enhanced Resonance Skill during Resonance Liberation are independent of each other.

In Encore’s damage output after activating Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack damage accounts for nearly 70%. Choosing Sanhua as a teammate can maximize her damage potential.

Sanhua

Although Sanhua has burst capabilities, the overall damage is not high. In Sanhua’s output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Resonance Liberation account for approximately 51% and 41%, respectively.

Although Resonance Skill damage is slightly higher, there is a risk of missing in actual combat. Sanhua has a unique Forte Circuit trigger mechanism similar to rhythm games, and hitting enemies can cause a slight time-stopping effect.

Sanhua has the fastest Concerto Energy and Resonance Energy acquisition efficiency in the game, making it the most versatile and best-feeling support in the current version. After using the Intro Skill, Sanhua only needs 3 seconds to fully charge Concerto Energy and trigger QTE, activating the Main DPS for output.
