Lynae Overview
In Wuthering Waves, Lynae is a 5-Stars Spectro character and uses Pistol during the fight.
Lynae Mechanism
New Game Mechanism – Tune Break
After the 3.0 update, all enemies now have a shield icon to the left of their health bar. Additionally, every character’s stat panel now includes Tune Break Boost and Tune Break Efficiency.
These are part of the newly added Tune Break mechanic. Simply put, the shield icon next to the health bar acts like a new Toughness bar. Each character’s attacks can build up progress on this shield, which is called accumulating Tune Break. The higher a character’s Tune Break Efficiency, the faster they build it up.
Once this shield bar is fully depleted, if the enemy is a 4-Cost or 3-Cost type, a special indicator will appear on them. Triggering it allows you to perform a Tune Break. Tune Break will immediately interrupt the enemy’s current action, reduce a chunk of their Toughness, and deal a white-colored Physical damage.
This Physical damage is only affected by: character level, enemy DEF, enemy Physical RES, and the character’s Tune Break Boost stat. Characters from the 3.0 region have a base Tune Break Boost of 10, while pre-3.0 characters have 0. Furthermore, Lynae can provide an additional 40 Tune Break Boost to teammates.
For 1-Cost enemies, no extra Tune Break action is needed—they will automatically take a white-colored Tune Break damage.
Regardless of enemy cost, after a Tune Break is performed, there is a brief period (a few seconds) where Tune Break cannot be accumulated again. Just be aware of this.
This covers the universal Tune Break mechanics for both new and old characters. Terms like Tune Rupture, Tune Stain, etc., are specific buffs for characters native to the Startorch Academy. We’ll discuss those when we get to Lynae’s skills.
Lynae’s Buffs and States
First, let’s look at the buffs Lynae can provide. She also has two states: Normal State and the Kaleidoscopic Parade state. Essentially, all of Lynae’s damage output and the essence of her mobility are contained within this Kaleidoscopic Parade state.
Entering Kaleidoscopic Parade State
There are two methods:
Use normal Basic Attacks, Resonance Skills, etc., to accumulate her Forte Circuit Energy, called Overflow. Once Overflow is full, her Basic Attack icon lights up. Holding down the Attack button causes Lynae to begin charging—this is the Spark Collision mentioned in the skill description. The Forte Circuit bar changes to Lumiflow. There’s no special threshold here; just charge it fully. Once fully charged, Lynae will automatically release, entering the Kaleidoscopic Parade state.
The second method is riding the motorcycle in new region. After unlocking Inherent Skill 1, Lynae automatically enters the Kaleidoscopic Parade state when mounting the motorcycle.
Kaleidoscopic Parade State Mechanics
In this state, Lynae’s movement changes to skating. If you stand still or switch her off-field, the Lumiflow gauge will decrease. Performing any movement or attack will cause it to refill. If it fills completely, Lynae can skate even faster.
To exit the Kaleidoscopic Parade state, hold down the Resonance Skill button.
The jump action in this state is core to Lynae’s rotation. Jump becomes a special Basic Attack, the Polychrome Leap mentioned in the skill description. Each jump consumes one-third of the Lumiflow gauge and can be used up to three times consecutively. In combat, each jump segment performed grants 1 point of True Color.
If you get knocked back or interrupted during combat, don’t worry. You gain 1 True Color point per jump segment. Like most characters, you can complete the sequence in parts; it won’t disrupt your rotation or Concerto Energy gain, which is very convenient.
Visual Impact
Once you have accumulated these 3 True Color points and are in the air, you can perform Visual Impact. Using it has two effects:
It increases the Tune Break Boost of characters in the team by 40 points for 30 seconds, making it permanent. Besides increasing Tune Break damage by 40%, this 40-point boost synergizes with Lynae’s Echo set effect to provide an additional 12% ATK bonus.
Visual Impact leaves a pool of paint on the ground. Its duration is short and its utility is limited. Enemies within the area are continuously inflicted with Photochromic Flux.
Photochromic Flux and Resonance Modes
Polychrome Leap, Visual Impact, and Lynae’s Intro Skill all apply Photochromic Flux to enemies. The effect of Photochromic Flux depends on Lynae’s current mode.
In the top-left corner of the Character’s skill interface, you’ll see a Resonance Mode toggle button: left for Tune Rupture, right for Tune Stain. Switching modes changes the icons for her Resonance Skill, Forte Circuit, and Tune Break description accordingly. While the icons change, the skills themselves remain functionally the same.
The only thing affected is the effect of Photochromic Flux. If you open the Tune Break description, you’ll see it’s divided into two types: Tune Rupture and Tune Strain.
If Tune Rupture is active: After any team member performs a Tune Break on an enemy with Photochromic Flux, the enemy enters the Tune Rupture Interfered state. Simply put, after the Tune Break, if any subsequent damage is dealt to that enemy, Lynae will follow up with a Tune Rupture Response damage instance. This damage is similar to Tune Break damage and does not benefit from ATK or DMG Bonus modifiers. The description says “the same target can only be affected once every 8s,” which essentially means it triggers once per enemy per Tune Break, as the “Interfered” state also lasts 8 seconds.
If Tune Strain is active: After an enemy is executed (via Tune Break), they enter the Tune Stain Interfered state. The damage Lynae deals is increased, acting as an independent multiplier. With 50 Tune Break Boost, this increase is about 6%.
Generally, selecting Tune Rupture is sufficient. If you have Lynae at higher Resonance Chains (e.g., S2+) and intend to use her as a main DPS, you might choose Tune Strain.
Resonance Liberation and Outro Skill
Lynae’s Resonance Liberation effect is relatively simple: it deals damage and grants the entire team a 24% All-type DMG Bonus for 30 seconds, which persists even if she is switched out. Afterwards, you can use a special Basic Attack to damage enemies with the scooter.
However, Lynae’s Outro Skill effect does disappear if you switch characters. It provides the next character to take the field with a 15% All-type DMG Deepen and a 25% Resonance Liberation DMG Deepen. Using the Outro Skill also causes her to exit the Kaleidoscopic Parade state.
Lynae Active Skills
Lynae Skills Priority

It is recommended to max out the Forte Circuit and the Resonance Liberation. Leveling the Basic Attack is also worthwhile. Other skills are less critical.
However, if you have S3 Lynae, then you must max out her Resonance Skill.

Lynae Passive Skills

Lynae Inherent Skill
After casting Basic Attack – Visual Impact, Lynae leaves Spray Paint on the ground and continuously inflicts Photochromic Flux on targets within the Spray Paint for 5s, triggered once every 2s. When Spray Paint is on the ground, switching to another Resonance Mode doesn’t affect the Photochromic Flux effects inflicted by the Spray Paint.
With Lynae in the team, the expedition motorbike’s Energy Tank expands by 600 points. Lynae enters Kaleidoscopic Parade automatically while on the expedition motorbike and restores 20% of Lumiflow.

Adaptive Optics: Everyday Applications
Lynae Inherent Skill
Casting Intro Skill – Time to Show Some Colors! increases Lynae’s Spectro DMG by 25% for 9s.
During Kaleidoscopic Parade, if Lynae isn’t in combat, dodging without directional input grants her Optic Camo for 15s, which will be removed when Lynae casts any skill other than dodging or is switched off the field. Performing environmental, gameplay or functional interactions, or entering combat, removes the Optic Camo. With Optic Camo, Lynae may enter an enemy’s aggro range without triggering combat.

Lynae Tune Break

Lynae can inflict Tune Rupture – Shifting or Tune Strain – Shifting on targets.
Lynae can respond to Tune Rupture – Interfered and Tune Strain – Interfered.
Responding to Tune Rupture – Interfered: When any Resonator in the team deals Tune Break DMG and inflicts the Tune Rupture – Interfered state, Lynae casts Tune Rupture Response – Spectral Analysis. Each target can be damaged by this skill up to once every 8s.
Responding to Tune Strain – Interfered: For each stack of Tune Strain – Interfered on the target, each point of Lynae’s Tune Break Boost increases her total DMG against that target by 0.12%. When Lynae is in the team, the target’s max stack limit of Tune Strain – Interfered is increased by 1.
When the target’s Off-Tuning Level is full, Lynae can cast Tune Break on the target.

Lynae Resonance Chain
S1
While it may appear to provide significant damage multipliers, the majority of Lynae’s damage actually comes from Visual Impact, her Resonance Liberation, and the Tune Rupture follow-up damage. Therefore, the damage increase from S1 is only about 9%.
The added paint-pool grouping effect can be somewhat useful in WhiWa.
As for the interruption resistance and the Overflow recovery, testing has shown they are not very impactful in practice. Thus, the conclusion is that it is not necessary to pull for S1 Lynae.
S2
This provides Lynae with an 18% personal damage increase. While it also grants the entire team a 25% Damage Deepen buff, it’s important to note that the Damage Deepen buff becomes more and more common and tends to be diluted.
S3
This RC is primarily designed to enhance Lynae’s Open World experience. It provides Lynae with approximately a 25% personal damage increase, though her personal damage contribution in a team in relatively low. However, in the open world, it significantly improves gameplay feel. It grants her Resonance Skill during the Kaleidoscopic Parade state a massive 1375% damage increase, and using the motorcycle also restores Lumiflow.
S4 & S5
Filler RCs.
S6
This changes Lynae’s rotation and playstyle. If we just simulate this RC in the suggested rotation, the damage increase is around 35%.
It unlocks a viable main DPS playstyle for Lynae. Her damage in this role is certainly adequate and you don’t need to worry about it being insufficient. However, she still can’t compete with dedicated main DPS characters with high RCs.
Pulling Recommendation
S0R0. The signature weapon can be skipped.

Days to be Painted Like a Canvas

The DMG Multiplier of Basc Attack – Visual Impact and Basic Attack – Iridescent Splash is increased by 90%.
With Lumiflow ≥ 120 points. Lynae gains 1 stack of Premixed Hue every 1s, up to 25 stacks. Each stack of Premixed Hue increases the Spectro DMG dealt through Additive Color by 55%. No Premixed Hue is gained while casting Additive Color. When Additive Color ends, remove all stacks of Premixed Hue. Lynae loses a stack of Premixed Hue every 0.5s once Lumiflow is below 120 points.
While Lynae is out of combat, Premixed Hue regenerates twice as fast and depletes half as fast.

Shadows of a Wind Racer
Lynae Sequence 4
ATK is increased by 20%.

Visions of a Future Unbound
Lynae Sequence 5
The DMG Multiplier of Resonance Liberation – Prismatic Overblast is increased by 70%.

Painted in My True Color
Lynae Sequence 6
Each time Kaleidoscopic Parade – Graffiti Blast or Kaleidoscopic Parade – Mid-air Heavy Attack is cast, Lynae gains 1 stack of Color of Soul, up to 3 stacks. Each stack of Color of Soul increases the DMG dealt through Basic Attack – Polychrome Leap and Basic Attack – Visual Impact by 30%. After casting Basic Attack – Polychrome Leap or Basic Attack – Visual Impact, all stacks of Color of Soul are removed.
Casting Basic Attack – Polychrome Leap resets the charges of Kaleidoscopic Parade – Mid-air Heavy Attack.
Lynae is immune to interruptions and all DMG taken is reduced by 30% during Kaleidoscopic Parade – Mid-air Heavy Attack.
Lynae now stays in Kaleidoscopic Parade after casting Outro Skill – Let’s Hit the Road!.
The Lumiflow upper limit is increased from 120 to 360. At the max limit, Lynae’s roller skating speed further increases.
If Intro Skill is cast during Kaleidoscopic Parade, restore 120 Lumiflow.

The impact of having the signature weapon vs. not having it is approximately a 20% personal damage increase for Lynae herself, and about a 10% overall team damage increase.
The second-best choice is the old permanent 5-star pistol, Statis Mist.
As for the new permanent 5-star pistol, its issue is inconsistency, as it is difficult to control when you can use the Tune Break action. Additionally, its buff only benefits Lynae personally and is less valuable than using Statis Mist to boost the main DPS’s damage.

Calcharo
Calcharo primarily uses the enhanced Basic Attack and enhanced Forte Circuit after using Resonance Liberation for damage output. In the series of damage output after using Resonance Liberation, the damage ratio between Resonance Liberation and Basic Attack is approximately 2.2:1. Additionally, the Resonance Skill can be released at intervals, allowing full enjoyment of the permanent five-star weapon’s effects.
After using Resonance Liberation, Calcharo gains a new Basic Attack model. The multiplier for this attack is related to the level of Resonance Liberation, but the main proportion of his damage comes from the “Death Messenger” in Forte Circuit. Resonance Skill can be used during the Liberation period to interrupt Basic Attack combos, quickly generate Forte Circuit Energy, and trigger “Death Messenger”. The main components of his damage output consist of these three elements.
Encore
mong the permanent 5-star Fusion DPS characters, Encore enters an enhanced state and changes attack mode after activating Resonance Liberation. The main source of Encore’s damage comes from Basic Attacks after activating Resonance Liberation, not the Forte Circuit. Additionally, the cooldowns for Encore’s regular Resonance Skill and the enhanced Resonance Skill during Resonance Liberation are independent of each other.
In Encore’s damage output after activating Resonance Liberation, Basic Attack damage accounts for nearly 70%. Choosing Sanhua as a teammate can maximize her damage potential.
Sanhua
Although Sanhua has burst capabilities, the overall damage is not high. In Sanhua’s output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Resonance Liberation account for approximately 51% and 41%, respectively.
Although Resonance Skill damage is slightly higher, there is a risk of missing in actual combat. Sanhua has a unique Forte Circuit trigger mechanism similar to rhythm games, and hitting enemies can cause a slight time-stopping effect.
Sanhua has the fastest Concerto Energy and Resonance Energy acquisition efficiency in the game, making it the most versatile and best-feeling support in the current version. After using the Intro Skill, Sanhua only needs 3 seconds to fully charge Concerto Energy and trigger QTE, activating the Main DPS for output. Our team composition recommendations for various characters also show Sanhua’s high versatility.
