Yinlin Review
Yinlin is a 5-Star Character in Wuthering Waves.
Mechanism
Yinlin is a Electro damage character with both support and DPS capabilities. Due to the ‘Punishment Mark’ damage type of Forte Circuit being Resonance Skill damage, considering the team’s rotation, Resonance Skill damage accounts for about 50% of Yinlin’s total damage. Yinlin’s greatest value lies not in off-field coordinated ‘Punishment Mark’ damage but in her decent ability to generate Concerto Energy and her unique Outro Skill buff in the current version. The concept of Yinlin’s mechanism is as below :
Apply “Sinner Mark” to enemies by Basic Attack/Intro/Libeation → Charging “Judgement Points’ to 100 by Intro/Skill/Basic Attack → use Heavy Attack to upgrade all “Sinner Mark” to “Punishment Mark” → Switch to Main DPS → Additional Electro DMG dealt to enemies with “Punishment Mark” being hit
Pros
- Yinlin’s Outro Skill provides a 25% Resonance Liberation DMG Deepen and 20% Electro DMG Deepen, making it the first Outro Skill with dual-type buffs. This means Yinlin can serve characters that focus on Resonance Liberation or Electro DMG. While the benefits are slightly lower compared to single-type Outro Skill buffs, it offers broader applicability.
- Yinlin’s operations are relatively simple and easy to master, with the ability to cancel the Resonance Skill’s animation lock through dodging. In OBT, Yinlin’s intro skill can recover “Judgement Point”. This makes Yinlin easier to achieve full “Judgement Point”, thereby reducing on-field time.
Cons
- As a limited character with a support-oriented role, Yinlin’s multipliers are not impressive. Even with a maxed-out resonance chain, her performance is only comparable to a 0+1 limited DPS character (Jiyan).
Yinlin Active Skills
Yinlin Skills Priority
Yinlin’s main damage comes from Forte Circuit’s Judgment Strike, so upgrading Forte Circuit is the highest priority. Next is Resonance Liberation, which has a good multiplier. Then comes Resonance Skill. Finally, consider upgrading Intro Skill and Basic Attack.
Yinlin Burst Rotation (Sub DPS)
- Intro Skill (Switch to Yinlin, +30 “Judgement Points” → total 30)
- Resonance Skill 1 (Magnetic Roar, +30 “Judgement Points” → total 60)
- Resonance Liberation
- Resonance Skill 2 (Lightning Excecution, +10 “Judgement Points” → total 70)
- 1 set of Enhanced Basic Attack*4 (Execution Mode, +41 “Judgement Points” → total 100)
- Heavy Attack (Forte Circuit : Chameleon Cipher, consumes all “Judgement Points”)
- Echo Skill (Impermanence Heron)
- Outro Skill (Switch to next Main DPS)
This is not the best rotation, but it is more friendly for beginners. Echo is Impermanence Heron.
Healer is switched to Yinlin. Yinlin uses Resonance Skill 1 to enter Execution Mode, which enhances Basic Attack. Then, use Liberation (Intro Skill and Liberation are enough to apply “Sinner’s Mark” to all enemies), followed by Resonance Skill 2. Next, use a set of enhanced Basic Attack, “Judgement Points” is full at this point. Use a Heavy Attack to consume all “Judgment Points” to trigger “Chameleon Cipher”, upgrading the “Sinner’s Mark” on the enemies to “Punishment Mark”. When the team deals damage to an enemy with the “Punishment Mark”, it will trigger additional Electro DMG to all enemies with the “Punishment Mark”. At this point, use the Echo Skill and finally switch to the Main DPS for a burst.

Chameleon Cipher
When Yinlin’s ‘Judgment Points’ is full, her Heavy Attack is replaced with Chameleon Cipher, which consumes all ‘Judgment Points’ to attack the target, dealing Electro DMG. When it hits a target marked with Sinner’s Mark, the Sinner’s Mark is replaced with Punishment Mark, lasting for 18s.
Sinner’s Mark
Normal Attack Zapstring’s Dance, Resonance Liberation Thundering Wrath, and Intro Skill Roaring Storm will apply Sinner’s Mark on hit.
Sinner’s Mark is removed when Yinlin exits.
‘Punishment Mark’
When a target marked with Punishment Mark is damaged, Judgement Strike will fall, dealing Electro DMG to all targets marked with Punishment Mark. This can be triggered up to once per second.
Judgement Points
Yinlin can hold up to 100 Judgement Points.
When Normal Attack Zapstring Dance hits a target, it restores ‘Judgement Points’.
When Resonance Skill Magnetic Roar hits a target, it restores ‘Judgement Points’.
When Resonance Skill Electromagnetic Blast hits a target, it restores ‘Judgement Points’.
When Resonance Skill Lightning Execution hits a target, it restores ‘Judgement Points’.
When the Intro Skill hits a target, it restores ‘Judgement Points’.

Yinlin Resonance Chain
Suggested Resonance Chain
The greatest increase comes from Sequence 6, which unlocks Yinlin as the Main DPS, resulting in a total increase of 31%. Next is Sequence 3, which increases the lightning strike multiplier of Yinlin’s Forte Circuit, giving an overall boost of about 22% to Yinlin. Sequence 2 is related to energy recovery and is generally not included in the calculations. However, since it simultaneously restores Forte Circuit Energy (Judgment Point), it can speed up Yinlin’s damage output. This makes it a mechanism Sequence that can be considered for pulling.
*The % increase is relative to the previous Resonance Chain.

Yinlin Echo Skill Priority
Both Tempest Mephis and Thundering Mephis can increase Yinlin’s damage, but Thundering Mephis has a longer action time, making it slightly inferior to Tempest Mephis overall.
Although Violet-Feathered Heron’s Counterattack multiplier is decent and it can restore 5 Concerto points, it seems appealing at first glance. However, its practical use is limited as it often leads to standing idle.

Yinlin Team Comp
Yinlin Best Team 1
Main DPS – Calcharo
Yinlin’s Outro Skill perfectly complements Calcharo. During Resonance Liberation, Calcharo’s Liberation Damage and Basic Attack Damage are approximately in a 2:1 ratio. Yinlin also provides Resonance Liberation Deepen and Electro Damage Deepen.
Whether Yinlin is equipped with the Void Thunder set as a Sub DPS or the Moonlit Clouds set as a full support for Calcharo, both options are viable choices.
In the early stages, when resources are limited, you can choose the Moonlit Clouds set without investing too much in upgrading Echoes. In the later stages, when resources are abundant, using the Void Thunder set can significantly enhance the overall damage output of the team.
Healer – Verina/Baizhi
Verina’s healing abilities and Concerto Energy acquisition abilities are both greater than Baizhi’s, making her the preferred healer character. Verina’s Inherent Skill provides a one-time death immunity effect. Baizhi also has a similar effect that is even better, but it requires unlocking at Sequence 5.
Verina’s healing amount is based on her ATK, so Verina has a certain degree of damage output. If you build it well, her damage should not be underestimated.
Verina’s Inherent Skill can provide a 20% attack buff to the entire team, while Baizhi can only provide a 15% attack buff to a single character.
Yinlin Best Team 2
Main DPS
Sub DPS – Sanhua/Taoqi
Apart from Sequence 6 Yinlin, it is not recommended to use Yinlin as the Main DPS. Yinlin has low overall multipliers, long downtime, and currently lacks suitable characters to support her. Although Taoqi can provide Resonance Skill Deepen (since Yinlin’s Forte Circuit “Judgment Strike” is Resonance Skill Type Damage), Taoqi’s slow attack frequency and slow concerto energy generation make it difficult to form a smooth rotation cycle with Yinlin.
When not considering supporting Yinlin, her teammates only need to effectively trigger Yinlin’s off-field attacks. Characters that can quickly generate Concerto Energy have a higher priority, such as Sanhua.
Yinlin Best Team 3
Main DPS – Jinhsi
Jinhsi relies on teammates’ coordinated Attack to maximize the rate of stacking “Incandescence” in order to maximize the damage of enhanced skill. Therefore, prioritize selecting teammates with coordinated attack mechanisms.
Sub DPS – Yinlin
When facing multiple targets, Yinlin is the best sub DPS for Jinhsi. Yinlin has AoE coordinated attack, and the cooldown of her coordinated attack is exactly 1 second, matching the cooldown for stacking “Incandescence” (once every 3 seconds). Additionally, Yinlin’s enhanced basic attack restores concerto energy proportionally to the number of enemies hit, allowing for a quick recharge of concerto energy.
Healer – Verina/Baizhi
Since both Verina and Jinhsi are Spectro characters, and Verina’s ‘Jué’ echo skill provides a 15-second DoT, each coordinated attack by Verina only provides 2 points of ‘Incandescence’. Additionally, the cooldown of coordinated attacks does not match the cooldown for stacking ‘Incandescence’, so during the 10S Liberation period, Verina can only provide Jinhsi with about 14-16 points of ‘Incandescence’. If the character is attacked or the boss moves during Liberation, the amount of ‘Incandescence’ obtained will be even less.
Baizhi’s Liberation can also provide coordinated attacks, and it deals Glacio damage, with each coordinated attack providing 3 points of ‘Incandescence’. During the entire Liberation period, 12 points of ‘Incandescence’ can be obtained. An S4 Baizhi will have two additional coordinated attacks, increasing the ‘Incandescence’ gained to 18 points. Moreover, Baizhi’s attacks are unique in that they do not need to hit the enemy to trigger, and Baizhi’s coordinated attacks can also trigger Yinlin’s coordinated attacks. The downside is that Baizhi gains concerto energy slower than Verina and has a 5% lower ATK buff, which is also a single-target buff.

More Build Guides
Danjin
High damage, low survivability. Among 4-star characters, Danjin has the highest overall damage output. The Resonance Chain benefits are the highest among 4-star characters.
With a smooth-damage output flow, a high Resonance Chain Danjin has damage close to or even surpassing low Resonance Chain 5-star characters. Danjin has the shortest attack animation lock in the entire game. In a single damage output cycle, Resonance Skill damage and Heavy Attack account for approximately 45% and 42% respectively.
Danjin’s unique feature is that using Resonance Skill accumulates Forte Circuit Energy even if it doesn’t hit the enemy, thus in actual combat, the proportion of Heavy Attack damage will be higher.
Chixia
Obtained immediately upon entering the game, this character has the highest burst damage among four-star characters and is the best fit for the Battle Pass Pistol. Using R1 permanent five-star weapons as the 100% standard, a fully leveled Battle Pass Pistol can reach 110%.
In Chixia’s burst damage output, Resonance Skill damage accounts for over 60%. If the Double-Boom Boom technique is mastered (using Resonance Liberation immediately after the second Boom Boom and then using Boom Boom again after Resonance Liberation ends), the proportion of Resonance Skill damage can be even higher.
Although the Resonance Liberation Energy requirement is quite high, the Resonance Liberation Multiplier is the highest among four-star characters, making the damage very considerable.
Mortefi
A off-field synergy attack character with great potential. It is the 4-star up character in the same banner as Jiyan.
The Outro Skill buff is very suitable for Jiyan, making it Jiyan’s best support so far. Due to the Inherent Skill 2 has increment effect, the theoretical damage provided during the Resonance Liberation is very high. Additionally, the efficiency of Resonance Energy and Concerto Energy acquisition is decent.
